The Sexual Identity Scale (SIS) (Stern, Barak and Gould 1987)
The Sexual Identity Scale (SIS) developed by Stern, Barak and Gould (1987)is a unidimensional measure using a 5-point Likert scale items ranging from very masculine to very feminine. The scores range from a low of 100 for very masculine to a high of 500 for very feminine. Based on literature, four items were selected. The items were generated to assesses the degree to which one identifies with a given gender.

" The SIS assesses the degree to which one identifies with a given gender. That is, the measure assesses the degree to which individuals view themselves as more masculine or more feminine regardless of their actual gender "
